Alt. 200-586 m 39°25'W, l6°53*S This plant growing by track through forest at base of mountain. Climber to 10 m. Stem below naked shiny greyish-green, internodes 2-3 cm long, 1-1,5 cm thick. Petiole to 40 cm long, sheath with short rounded prow-like obtuse ligule, margins white-membranous. Free part of petiole terete to flattened above. Lamina to 2k cm long, 34 cm broad, above dark green, + shiny, margins white-membranous primary lateral nerves and costa impressed; below lamina paler, costa, primary lateral nerves and collecting nerves prominent, secondary venation showing as darker on pale background. Spathe green, upper portion soon withering, inflorescences produced in groups of 7 per node. Stamens.white, pistils pale green with white opaque stigmas.. Spathe in fruit becoming darker green, outer .surface of pistils light brown covered with dark brown scales, inner flesh white with pale green seeds« Cut surfaces excluding white latex. 12 January 1977 Harley et al 17874 00498119
