This is a middle-sized shrub in the West Indies, growing about five or six feet in height: with us it rarely exceeds half that size. It must be preserved in the stove dur- ing winter; but in the summer season does very well out of doors for the space of two months. It flowers late in autumn : the blossoms are not very conspicuous, but the leaves being of a fine, healthy green, and the plant easy of culture, taking little room, it is fairly en- titled to a place in a collection. It propa- gates freely by cuttings, thriving in a light, loamy soil. Aegiphila martinicenaia Jacq. Verified by H. N. Moldknke May, 1954 01337182<<<OCR
