Georeferenced to the approximate geographic center of Praia de Gaibu in Cabo de Santo Agostinho, Pernambuco; taking into account the added uncertainty of the word "near" in the locality description. Used the reference material and Google Maps – Earth and Map Views to locate Praia de Gaibu, the beach area within the neighborhood of Gaibu. Used the Google Maps – Measure Distance Tool to measure a straight line between the approximate starting (-8.330572, -34.950811) and endpoints (at: -8.343303, -34.947623) of the beach, then halved this distance to find the midpoint of the line. Chose a point along the shoreline nearest to the midpoint of the line; used the Google Maps – What's Here Tool to find the coordinates of the approximate geographic midpoint of the shore of Gaibu. Because the nearest named place, Praia da Enseada dos Corais, is farther from the approximate geographic center of Praia de Gaibu than the linear extent of Praia de Gaibu itself (763.06 m), followed Case A of the Near a Named Place method of the Georeferencing Quick Reference Guide. Used the Google Maps – Measure Distance Tool again to find the approximate linear extent by measuring from the selected coordinates to the approximate geographic midpoint of Praia da Enseada dos Corais (at: -8.315133, -34.947845), then halving this distance. Input coordinates, coordinate precision (.00001 degrees), coordinate source (locality description), datum (WGS84), linear extent (1235.0 m), and measurement error (5 m) into the MaNIS Georeferencing Calculator to find the uncertainty radius (according to the Georeferencing Quick Reference Guide, Named Place: Near a Named Place).
