Habitat
Growing in a vegetated island on a steep sand moraine. Soil very sandy and gravelly, covered in oak leaf litter and heavily covered in mosses and lichens. With Quercus coccinea, Prunus serotina, and Betula populifolia.

Low, suckering shrub. Stems brown. Flowers ivory white, pollen yellow. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
