In disturbed area in an Oak-Hickory Mesic Woodland, with Acer platanoides, Acer palmatum, Betula lenta, Rosa multiflora, Hemerocallis fulva, Celastrus orbiculata and Prunus.

Shiny evergreen leaves; plant trailing along the ground froming a thick patch. Violet/periwinkle colored flowers. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
