  • Georeferencing Method

Georeferencing Quick Reference Guide, Version 2012. Georeferenced to the approximate midpoint of the road which connects the city of Fazendinha to the city of Macapá in Mun. Macapá, Acre. Using Google Maps - Satellite View, located the road which connects the two cities, Rod. Juscelino Kubitscheck. Used the Distance Measurement Tool (Google Maps) to measure a straight line between the beginning of this road (at Fazendinha; intersection of Rod. Salvador Diniz and Rod. Juscelino Kubitscheck) and the end of this road (at the city of Macapá; at the intersection of Rod. Juscelino Kubitscheck and Av. Antônio Martins da Silva), then halved this distance to approximate the location of the midpoint of this road. Measured to approximately this halved distance from the beginning of the road toward the center; used Canadensys Lat/Long Crosshairs to find the coordinates of the midpoint of the road. Input coordinates, linear extent (distance from the selected coordinates to the farthest extent of the road, 3726.69 m), and measurement error (.5 m) into the MaNIS Georeferencing Calculator to find the uncertainty radius.
