Dominican Republic. La Vega. Cordillera Central, in Reserva Cientifica Valle Nuevo, N of Villa Pajon; ca. 21.4 km S of Constanza on road to Valle Nuevo and San Jose de Ocoa, 3 km S of Forestry House near park boundary.

Habitat
Occasional shrub (here, but at higher elevations becoming abundant; we saw this plant up to ca. 2300 m).

Description
Plants to 0.2 dm tall. Corolla pink; fruits dark purple-black. Wintergreen smell.
