Costa Rica. Cartago. About 15 km. south of Tapantí along the new road, on the east slope above the Río Grande de Orosi near the concrete bridge.

Habitat
In very deep shade in the forest. Steep slopes with open forest and many epiphytes.

Description
Small (30-40 cm.) plants, leaves purplish in color, extremely bullate; fruit becoming blue-violet with purple calyx lobes, in a head-like cluster. Phenology of specimen: Fruit.
