Kenya. Nyeri. Central. Aberdare National Park, track into the park from Treetops Gate. Past Treetops Lodge.

Habitat
Roadside scrub in open montane forest. Growing mixed with Solanum aculeastrum, but S. aculeastrum disappearing at higher elevations. Locally common or even dominant along the dirt road.

Description
Multi-stemmed shrub 2-5 m, trunk 20 cm wide at base. Bark grey brown with algal growth, prickles on all parts of the stem. Flowers facing sideways or downwards, corolla reflexed ca. 30 degrees, violet with green midveins. Phenology of specimen: Fruit.
