Habitat
Open dry roadside scrub. With Balanites aegyptiaca, Acacia seyal and Schinus molle. Uncommon.

Description
Erect herb to 50 cm. All prickles pale green, base of prickles on upper surface of the leaves purple. Flowers facing sideways; corolla reflexed ca. 30 degrees, evenly blue-violet. Long filament always lowermost. Population in flower with no fruit. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
