Kenya. Coast. Malindi, Mayungu beach. Half way between Malindi and Watamu.

Habitat
Sand dunes facing the open sea, ca. 10 m from the surf. Sheltered inside thicket 2 m tall, with Cordia, Calibrina, Commelina, Salvadora persica.

Description
Semi-scandent thin shrub, 1.5 m, stem 6 mm diameter at base. Bark light grey. Young stems purplish on the upper side only. Flowers held upwards or at 45 degrees up; corolla almost completely closed at 3 pm. Corolla white, margins and midvein violet. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
