A.S.J. van Proosdij 1999 Rooi Thomas Valley in limestone terrace. Full sunlight, dry surface, but moist underneath rocks. Shrub, up to 1 m high, basally branched. Bark pale brown with grey spots. Petioles white pubescent. Leaves dark green above, lower side paler, both sides short, grey pubescent. Petals dark red brown, margins yellow; disc black with pale brown centre; filaments dark red brown; antheres yellow. Fruits unripe, green to somewhat red brown.
