• Georeferencing Method

  Georeferencing Quick Reference Guide, Version 2012. Georeferenced to 1 km upstream (toward the source of the river) along Furo de Santa Rosa from the junction of Furo de Santa Rosa and Rio Trairão in Roraima, Brazil. Using Google Maps - Satellite View, located the confluence of Furo de Santa Rosa and Rio Trairão, at the northern portion of Ilha de Maracá. (3.5168906, -61.6952276). Used the Distance Measurement Tool (Google Maps) to measure approximately 1 km (1.00669 km) upriver along Furo de Santa Rosa. Used Canadensys Lat/Long Crosshairs to find the coordinates, on the adjacent shore of Ilha de Maracá (collection assumed to be terrestrial). Used the Distance Measurement Tool (Google Maps) again to find the linear extent of the starting location, the confluence of Furo de Santa Rosa and Rio Trairão. Input coordinates, linear extent (0.234425 km), measurement error (0.0005 km), and distance precision (1 km) into the MaNIS Georeferencing Calculator to find the uncertainty radius.
