Mexico. Sonora. North end of the Sierra El Viejo in the large canyon containing the Mina Santa Cruz, 25 km SW of Caborca.

Habitat
Rocky canyon botton near mine and steep, mostly limestone ridges above. Dominates include: Cercidium microphyllum, Sapium, Encelia farinosa, Carnegiea, Fouquieria splendens, Croton sonorae, Opuntia bigelovii.

Description
Fairly common on open gravelly flats, prostrate, flowers blue. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
