  • Location

United States of America. Georgia. Gwinnett Co. Thompsons Mills.

  • Description

Nos. 1, 2, 3, although they differ slightly from each other, I cannot distinguish from Pinus taeda. If any of them came from old fields or other unnatural habitats the variaions probably have no particular significance. You appear to hope that one of them may be undescribed. If it is, it is either a local or a widely distributed species. It is probably not the former, for in the Eastern U.S. there is no known pine confined to a single state, and only one which is confined to two states. (Pinus clausa). And if widely distributed it would in all probability have been seen by botanists elsewhere. R. M. Harper's reply to H. A. Allard. Phenology of specimen: Fruit.
