  • Habitat

    Primary forest on terra firme, mostly level terrain, deeply dissected by a few large streams. Guadua sarcocarpa beginning to dominate again in places approx. 12 years after dieback, canopy still open, as is much of understory. Rare.

    Tree. Tree 25 m x 80 cm, fruits pendent, depressed-globose, 6 c diam. USE: Mesocarp of fruit used to make a sweet fruit juice. Phenology of specimen: Fruit.
