Habitat
Chihuahuan shrubland, mostly 1-3 m. tall. Lower Cretaceous limestones. Community dominated by Gochnatia hypoleuca, Fraxinus greggii, Rhus virens, Acacia berlandieri, Berberis trifoliata, Bauhinia ramosissima, Bernardia myricaefolia, Quercus pungens, Dodonaea viscosa, and other shrubs.

Straggling, prostrate shrub, 0.1-0.3 m. tall. Flowers purple. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
