Provincia Baoruco: Sierra de Neiba, Sabana del Silencio (disturbed valley, covered with Danthonia. Area apparently was once a pine forest. 2201 m. 18°39'07“N 71°33'26“W.
Hillsides covered with broad-leaved forest, understory with Arthrostylidium, Rubus, and numerous ferns, epiphytes and Usnea. Erect herb 50 cm tall; inflorescence spreading, with pinkish perianth.
