Mexico. Jalisco. On low mountains of the Sierra Volcanica Transversal, just SW of Valley of Cocula (2 km SW of Los Pajares, 7 km SW of Sta. Maria).

Habitat
Dense grassy vegetation, in damp, shallow soil pockets ("swales") in depressions of decomposing granite (with Scleria, Polygala, Paspalum, Cyperus spp., Muhlenbergia, Tagetes spp. along highway. Vast outcrops of bare, crumbling granite on low mountains.
