    Georeferencing Quick Reference Guide, Version 2012. Unable to find either Ilha Marauiá or Massarabi along Rio Negro. Assumed that the large island adjacent to the mouth of Rio Marauiá and Parana Marauiá to be Ilha Marauiá. Also located the mouth of Rio Uapés along Rio Negro. Georeferenced to the approximate geographic midpoint of Rio Negro between the island assumed to be Ilha Marauiá and the mouth of Rio Uapés in Mun. São Gabriel da Cachoeira, Amazonas. Used Google Maps - Earth View to locate the island and the mouth of Rio Uapés, along Rio Negro. Used the Google Maps - Measure Distance Tool to measure a straight line between approximate geographic center of the shore of the island and the approximate geographic center of the mouth of Rio Uaupes then halved this distance to find the midpoint of the line. Chose a point along Rio Negro nearest to the midpoint of the line; used Google Maps - What's Here Tool to find the coordinates of the midpoint, on the adjacent shore (collection assumed to be terrestrial). Used the Google Maps – Measure Distance Tool again to find the linear extent by measuring from the selected coordinates to the farthest extent of this segment of Rio Negro. Input coordinates, linear extent (127170.0 m), and measurement error (50 m) into the MaNIS Georeferencing Calculator to find the uncertainty radius.
