Mexico. Hidalgo. Volcan Cuello, 19 km WSW of Apam, north slopes.

Habitat
Slopes of pine-oak forest, which continues to crater rim at crest, where tall pines (oocote blanco), 25-30 m tall, predominate. N slope appears to have been fired many times. In areas recently burned, low shrubs such as tresmole (Quercus), tesguate, yolochichi, are dominant. Crater floor (3000 m.) with bunch grass and scattered pines.
