    Honduras. Yoro. Close to the side road running SE from Cuyamapa towards Nueva Esperanza about 4 km. from the turnoff from the main Santa Rita to Yoro road or about 7 km. SE from the town of El Negrito on the banks of Rio Cuyamapa.

    Iin remnant gallery forest by the Rio Cuyamapa with Cecropia, Muntingia, Cordia and Acacia. Infrequent, scattered.

  • Description

    Medium-sized tree with a spreading crown to 15 m. ht. Bark thick and slightly rough with indistinct vertical fissures, pale whitish grey, inner bark deep salmon pink. Leaves slightly discolorous, deep bottle green and glossy above, paler below. A few scattered solitary pods bright pillar-box red. Phenology of specimen: Fruit.
