United States of America. Virginia. Northampton Co. ca 3.7 km ESE of town Cape Charles, ca 100 m W of US 13, ca 600 m S of Rt. 184, Rittenhouse Motor Lodge.

Habitat
Forest drained by perennial stream. This patch of forest was cut and then planted with Pinus taeda ca 60 years previously. It has since been managed as a small (2.6 ha) nature preserve and motel. There are many fine specimens of native trees (Magnolia virginiana, Persea barbonia, Quercus rubra, Fraxinus sp., Liquidambar styraciflua), shrubs (Euonymus americanus, Itea virginica, Aronia arbutifolia) and herbs (Dioscorea villosa, Passiflora lutea and 6 species of Persicaria s.l.).
