Very gravelly shallow soil, 50% slope to south. Calcareous substrate. Associated with Poa secunda, Chrysothamnus viscidiflorus, Tanacetum nuttallii, Atriplex confertifolia, Phlox muscoides, Happlopappus acaulis. Common.
