Brazil. São Paulo. Mogi Guaçú Mun. "Campos das Sete Lagôas". Just east of the boundary of the Reserva Florestal at Fazenda Campininha. About 11 km NNE of Rio Moji-Guaçu and the village of Padua Sales. (About 30 km NW of city of Moji-Mirim.).

Habitat
Abandoned cultivated field, originally cerrado. Dense growth of shrubs to 2 m. Ground cover of grasses, herbs and ground vines. General vegetation: campo cerrado (a type of scrubby woodland originally) on upland, or occasionally forest. Open marsh or dense secondary forest along streams. Soil poor, reddish-brown fine sand with a little clay.

Shrub 1.0-1.2 m tall. Fls. light rose-violet. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
