Habitat
Growing on a hot basalt and pumice talus slope below a W-facing cliff above the bottom of a large, desert arroyo. With Abutilon incanum, Bebbia juncea, Echinocereus sp., Jacquemontia abutiloides, Jatropha cinerea, Parkinsonia aculeata(?), Passiflora fruticosa, Physalis crassifolia, Ruellia californica and Sphaeralcea ambigua. Common.
