Papua New Guinea. Milne Bay. Samarai-Murua Distr. Rossel Island (Yela), Ionga Bay, Bene Hill.

Habitat
Primary forest on steep slope near hill summit, soil shallow, many exposed roots, leaf letter 2.5 cm deep, understory relatively open, few herbs, mostly Licuala palms. Canopy irregular but mostly closed, ca. 15 m tall with emergents to 25 m.

Description
Tree. Tree 25 m x 23 cm, bole cylindrical, outer bark brown, somewhat pitted, shed in many small thin irrgular plates, thin, inner bark orange, brittle, several mm thick. Fruits immature, ovoid, ca. 2.5 cm long. Phenology of specimen: Fruit.
