• Georeferencing Method

  Georeferencing Quick Reference Guide, Version 2012. Georeferenced to the approximate geographic center of Rio Guama in Pará, Brazil. Using Google Maps - Terrain View and Satellite View, located Rio Guama, a tributary of Baía do Guajará. Used Distance Measurement Tool (Google Maps) to measure a straight line starting at the mouth of Rio Guama (where Rio Guama branches off from Baía do Guajará) to the approximate end of Rio Guama (where the river divides into two unnamed rivers); halved this distance to approximate the midpoint of the river. Used Canadensys Lat/Long Crosshairs to find the coordinates, on the adjacent northern shore (nearby an unnamed road in a small farming village). Input coordinates, linear extent (distance from the midpoint of the river to the farthest extent of Rio Guama, 100996 m.), and measurement error (1 m.) into the MaNIS Georeferencing Calculator to find the uncertainty radius.
