Habitat
Scattered in Annona Chalk glade (Cretaceous), in areas of moderate to sparse grass cover and much exposed chalk, between scattered low Juniperus ashei, Juniperus virginiana, and Quercus durandii. Herbaceous associates include Schizaxhyrium scoparium, Carex crawei, Penstemon cobaea, Rudbeckia hirta, Dalea purpurea, and Stenosiphon linifolious.
