DEPARTMENT OF BOTANY • WASHINGTON STATE UNIVERSITY PULLMAN. WASHINGTON 99163 May 29, 1978 Dr. Rupert Bameby New York Botanical Garden Bronx Park Bronx, New York 10458 Dear Dr. Bameby: Enclosed are three slides of Astragalus columbianus in fruit: a whole plant, and close-ups of green fruits and red fruits. The fourth slide is a general view of the southwest shore in the Priest Rapids area. Also enclosed is a fruiting branch which may be added to the NY specimen. I collected this branch on April 28, 1978. Thank you for your enthusiastic letter and your annotation of the WSbpecimen. We are planning to return to Priest Rapids in a week or so to collect seeds (hopefully, they will be mature). Cordially yours,1 01247768
