Georeferencing Method
Georeferencing Quick Reference Guide, Version 2012. Unable to find the precise location of "Experimentação da EMBRAPA;" georeferenced to 23 km. along Altamira-Itaituba road (BR-230) in accordance with the locality description. Using Google Maps - Satellite View, located the road which connects the cities of Altamira and Itaituba, BR-230. Beginning at the location where the road meets the approximate geographic center of Altamira, used Distance Measurement Tool (Google Maps) to measure approximately 23 km. (23.0001 km.) along BR-230 toward the city of Itaituba. Used Canadensys Lat/Long Crosshairs to find the coordinates at this offset location. Used Distance Measurement Tool (Google Maps) again to find the linear extent of the starting location, the city of Altamira, by measuring from the approximate geographic center of the city to the farthest extent of the city. Input coordinates, linear extent (4860.95 m.), measurement error (.01 m.), and distance precision (100 m.) into the MaNIS Georeferencing Calculator to find the uncertainty radius.
