Habitat
In sandy soil on gentle northeast-facing slope with Atriplex, Ephedra and Juniperus.

Description
Plants annual; leaves with widely scattered, cobwebby hairs; lowers stems glabrous; upper stems, bracts and calyx with prominently stalked glands; bracts entire and +/- clasping; corolla to 12mm long, the tube purple, exerted and minutely glandular; throat yellow with faint lavender spot below each lobe; corolla lobes lavender, to 3.5 mm long; pollen whitish, +/- 50 microns in diameter. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
