Massive clustered rattan with stems to 20 m tall and 8 cm diameter (with sheaths). Sheaths brown with numerous, flat, black spines interspersed with smaller spines; ocreas fibrous, disintegrating, 12 cm long; petioles 9-14 cm long; rachis 190 cm long with.
