In a narrow, over-grown pine barrens remnant. Growing with Aster liniariifolius, ....[see herbarium label for extened list of associated species]. Occasional. On sandy/gravelly soil (Adams loamy sand, 3 to 8 perscent slopes; sandy isotic, frigid Typic Haplorthods).
