Habitat
Growing in a small remnant of pine barrens vegetation. Growing with Acer rubrum, Betula populifolia, Comptonia peregrina,Prunus pensylvanica, Pteridium aquilinum, Quercus rubra, Q. velutina, Rubus occidentalis & Spiraea alba (?). Common. In sandy soil (Windsor loamy sand, 0-8% slopes; mixed, mesic Typic Udipsamments).

Shrubby tree 20 ft tall, trunk diameter 10 in. Phenology of specimen: Fruit.
