Ecuador. Napo. Tena (Canton). At South West base of Galeras Cordillera, 1 hour before Pusuno River, place called Mondacachi.

Primary montane rain forest, on top of gentle hill.

Description
Shrub. Understory, solitary, root cone, no crownshaft. 2 leaves per stem, sheath closed, petiole section round, petiole 29 cm long. Stem texture smooth. Rachis 78cm long. Lamina pinnate, width 22cm, length 98 cm. Lamina flat. 8 pinnae per side of rachis, pinnae insertion regular. Basal pinna length 30cm, middle pinna length 30 cm, apical pinna length 30 cm. Inflorescence infrafoliar. Peduncular bract color brown, texture papery, peduncle 46 cm long, width 0.5 cm. Rachis length 16cm, rachis width 0.2 cm. Inflorescence 14 rachillae, shortest 16 cm, longest 22cm. Fruits orange/greenish, roundish, 6cm diameter.
