  • Habitat

    Primary forest in low-lying area ("baixio") shallowly dissected by many small streams. Soil sandy in many places, but drainage poor in many spots. Occasional on mild slope.

  • Description

    Tree. Tree 25 m x 60 cm, outer bark gray, thin, with shallow wavy fissures, inner bark deep red with thin white striations. Fruit depressed-globose, yellow, sweet, fragrant, 3 cm diam. USE: Mesocarp of fruit made into a "refresco" (fruit juice). Phenology of specimen: Sterile.
