Description
Understory or subcanopy tree 12m x 30cm dbh. Mostly straight, non-cylindrical trunk with smooth, tan bark marked by long, horizontal lenticels. Branches are few, long, and bare, with leaves clustered at branch tips. No buttresses. Fruits are golden and velvety, and open in sections, revealing a white-ariled, angular seed surrounded by the pink colored inner capsule walls.
