edge of an abandoned cranberry bog surrounded by a pine (Pinus) - oak (Quercus) forest with sparse maple (Acer) and opening dominated by huckleberry (Gaylussacia) and mountain laurel (Kalmia latifolia). on a large red maple (Acer rubrum).
