Habitat
Densely scrubby pinyon-juniper woodland on moderate W- and S- facing slopes. Cercocarpus ledifolius, C. montanus, Peraphyllum, Quercus gambelii, grasses and forbs in understory. Rocky soil on W-facing side; light ashy-gray, sandy soil on S-facing side. Common.
