Location
United States of America. New jersey. Burlington Co. Lowland to the W. side of Bisphams Mill Creek. Lebanon (Brendan T. Byrne) State Forest.

Habitat
Growing in a seep at the base of a quartz sand-hill in a shady swamp forest in mucky soil (Fluvaquents, sandy, 0-3% slopes, frequently flooded). Acer rubrum, Bartonia paniculata (rare & twining around other vegetation), Carex collinsii, etc. Abundant.

Description
Nearly aquatic to hummock-forming moss, fast-growing (lots of leaves & pine needles embedded in the hummocks), stems red to brown, plants otherwise light green, leaves bulbous, capitulum round.
