Habitat

Open forest on undulating terrain, non-dominant presence of taboca (Guadua); terra firme except for "baixios" (waterlogged low-lying areas). Sandy clay soils.

Description

Tree. Tree 25 m x 80 cm, outer bark dark brown, shed in small plates, inner bark dark brown, rigidly fibrous. Fruits pendent, immature. N.V.: itaúba. Phenology of specimen: Fruit.
