In aspen understory. 20° east-facing granitic slope poking up above aspen woodland. Soft sandy soil supporting Artemisia - Purshia scrub with Symphoricarpos rotundifolia, Castilleja lineariifolia, Eriogonum umbellatum, Cercocarpus ledifolius, Monardella odoratissima, Chrysothamnus viscidiflorus. Occasional.
