Natural stand of Pinus banksiana, here near the local western limit of
Pinus banksiana on the Wisconsin River sand plain on the north side
of the Wisconsin River (stands extend further west on the S side of
the river, see no’s. 57001-57003). Older trees of Pinus banksiana up
to 12 m. tall, 35 cm. in diameter, with much reproduction. With
Schizachyrium scoparium and intermixed with dry prairie patches.
