United States of America. Iowa. Bremer Co. Sweet Marsh Wildlife Management Area is located about 1 mile N/NE of Tripoli and is owned by the Iowa Dept. of Natural Resources. A tall grass prairie occurs S of the wildlife disctrict headquarters and W of Quail Avenue.

Habitat
Sphagnum subsecundum occurs in wet-mesic prairie in a drainageway as a light green, approximately 0.5 m by 0.2 m mat, with scattered smaller mats nearby. Associated with Betula nigra, Calamagrostis canadensis, Eupatorium maculatum, Polygonum sagittatum and Triadenum fraseri.
