    On Yucca brevifolia-dominated knolls and adjacent southeast-facing slopes with Ephedra torreyana, Larrea tridentata, and Ambrosia dumosa; surface of deep, loose sand with scattered light-colored gravel; also with Stipa hymenoides, Astragalus lentiginosus, Astragalus amphioxys, Astragalus sabulonum, Pediomelum castoreum, and Lupinus flavoculatus. Common.
