Habitat
Unlogged forest on terra firme near recently opened unpaved access road. Some patches dominated by Guadua sarcocarpa; Tetragastris and Brosimum common. Clay soils.

Description
Tree. Tree 35m x 70cm, fruits essentially globose but usually slightly 2-lobed, surface warty, maturing orange. Bark brown, numerous small lenticels, flaky, hoop marks, inner bark orange, latex café au lait color. USE: pulp enveloping seeds is sweet and edible. Photo. Phenology of specimen: Fruit.
