Georeferencing Method
Georeferencing Quick Reference Guide, Version 2012. Georeferenced to 12.5 km (the midpoint of the offset range) north of the approximate geographic center of Serra Jacamim in Mun. Santa Isabel do Rio Negro, Amazonas. Used the Google Maps - Earth View and Terrain View to locate the approximate geographic center of Serra Jacamim. Used the Google Maps - What's Here Tool to find the coordinates of the approximate geographic center of the mountainous region. Used the Google Maps - Measure Distance Tool to find the linear extent of Serra Jacamim by measuring from the selected coordinates to the farthest extent of the mountainous region. To find the offset; input coordinates (-0.350802, -65.517323), linear extent (2.77 km), offset distance (12.5 km), offset direction (N), measurement error (.025 km), and distance precision (1 km) into the MaNIS Georeferencing Calculator to find the uncertainty radius (according to Georeferencing Quick Reference Guide, Offset: Offset at a heading). Added 2.5 km (half of the offset range) to the uncertainty radius to account for the added uncertainty of the offset provided in a range format.
