A description written directly on this NY sheet: John Donnell Smith spec. Sect., Simplicia. Stems tufted, erect, from a decumbent base, glabroous, sheaths glabrous; blades commonly folded, 6-8 cm. long, 3 mm. wide, with a few long hairs on the upper surface near the base, otherwise glabrous; racemes 2-4, curved, 2-4 cm. long, spreading.
