  • Georeferencing Method

    Georeferencing Quick Reference Guide, Version 2012. Assumed "Jacará" is a typo for "Jacaré;" georeferenced to the approximate geographic center of Lago Jacaré which branches off from Rio Trombetas in Oriximiná, Pará. Using Google Maps - Satellite View, located the approximate geographic center of Lago Jacaré. Used Canadensys Lat/Long Crosshairs to find the coordinates, on the adjacent northern shore of the lake. Used Distance Measurement Tool (Google Maps) to find the linear extent by measuring from the selected coordinates to the farthest extent of Lago Jacaré. Used linear extent as the uncertainty radius. Site is located in the Brazilian state of Pará, not Paraíba.
